Revised BWA Policies and Procedures went into effect on October 1, 2019 with the adoption by the BWA Board of Directors of Resolution 2019-10, which was approved in September 2019. A copy of the current BWA Policies and Procedures is available online here.
Objectives of the revised Policies and Procedures included a number of changes to billing and account management procedures as well as the streamlining of guidelines and simplification of development project cost structure. A partial list of key changes to account management policies and procedures includes:
- Providing an additional three (3) day grace period between the payment due date and the cut-off date. Previously, bills were due on the 20th day following the bill date and service terminated for non-payment after the 25th day. With the new policy, payment is still due on the 20th day. However, the grace period for billing cut-off, which was previously five (5) days, has been increased to eight (8) days (28 days after the bill date). - The service cut-off fee was standardized to $50, regardless of prior account history. The previous $100 cut-off fee which applied in certain instances under prior policies has been eliminated. - A procedure for water leak adjustments was adopted. For applicability and eligibility, please refer to Section 2.01H of the 2019 Policies and Procedures.
